I’ve been so focussed on the public meeting that I have forgotten to publicise July’s monthly meeting. This will take place on Thursday 2 July at the Mitre, High Street, Oxford from 8pm. We’ll be looking at how the event went and planning what do next.
For those that missed it, here are some pictures from the event:

Finally, we will be having a stall at the Faringdon Peace Fete, which is in Coleshill on Saturday 4 July.

Before the big public meeting on 25 June we will be having our monthly stall in Cornmarket St. This will be on 30 May from 11am for a couple of hours. Come and meet the great British public and alert them to what the Government’s scheme means to them. Following on from this will be our regular pub meeting. This will, as usual, be on the first Thursday of the month. So we’ll be meeting at the Mitre on the High Street from 8pm on 4 June for a drink and a chat about the campaign.

Our regular monthly stall has been brought forward to avoid the bank holiday. This will be on Saturday 25 April in East Oxford from noon until 2pm. If you’d like to help with this, contact Jim (gadjie at gmail.com) who is organising it. This is our most important activity and the best way to raise awareness, so come and lend a hand!

Following on from this, our monthly pub meeting will be on Thursday 7 May from 8pm at the Mitre on the High Street.
Finally, we now have a date for our summer event – this will be on the evening of Thursday 25 June, so put it in your diary now. We are in the process of confirming the panel for this, but rest assured there will be some well-known speakers.

We will be holding our next street stall on Saturday 28 March. As usual we will be on Cornmarket St for a couple of hours, meeting up at 11am.
Following on from this we will be having our monthly pub meeting on Thursday 2 April. We will be at the Mitre on the High St from 8pm for a drink and a chat. We are currently trying to organise a public meeting for the summer and hope to have some famous names involved, so I’m sure we will be discussing that.
On a similar note, Faringdon Peace Group are organising a free afternoon of speeches and debate on the theme of the erosion of our civil liberties on Saturday 25th April. Speakers will include Tony Benn, Ed Vaizey MP and Henry Porter. More details are available on their website.

Our showing of the film Taking Liberties has been organised. It will be from 8pm on 26th February in the Council Room at Mansfield College. There will be no charge, but a donation to cover our costs would be appreciated. This quite neatly coincides with the Convention on Modern Liberty which is taking place in London a couple of days later.

We’ll be following up on this with our regular monthly pub meeting on 5 March at the Mitre from 8pm.

Our monthly stall will be on Saturday 31 January. We will be on Cornmarket Street from 11am for a couple of hours as usual, gathering signatures and talking to people.
Then our monthly pub meeting will be on 5 February, the first Thursday of the month once again. So we will be The Mitre on the High Street from 8pm for a drink and a chat.
We are also hoping to organise the showing of the film Taking Liberties quite soon, so stay tuned for details of that…

We’ll be kicking off the new year with a meeting from 8pm at The Mitre on Thursday 8 January. We usually meet on the first Thursday of the month, but since this falls on New Year’s Day we thought we’d push it back a week…

We’ll be running our monthly stall on Saturday 29 November. As usual this will be on Cornmarket Street from 11am for a couple of hours.
Following on from this will be our monthly pub meeting on Thursday 4 December. This will also follow the usual pattern and be at The Mitre on the High Street from 8pm.

Finally, we are going to run a stall at the Oxford Green Fair on Saturday 13 December. This will be at Oxford Town Hall 10:00-16:00. We could do with volunteers to help as six hours is quite a while to be standing behind a stall!

We will be having our monthly meeting a little later than usual this month. It will be happening on Thursday 13th November, but will still be at the Mitre on the High Street in Oxford from 8pm.
As is our tradition, we will be having a stall on Cornmarket Street the preceding Saturday, which this month will be 8th November. This will kick off from 11am and we expect to be there for a couple of hours. As usual, it helps if you let us know you are coming.

Finally, we are in the last stages of organising a student event. This will be on the evening of Friday 21st November and will be a joint event with the Oxford Libertarian Society and Oxford Students for Liberty. It will consist of a short talk by yours truly, followed by some discussions. Precise venue and timing to be announced when we have them…
[UPDATE: The event will be at 7:30pm in Lecture Room B, Worcester College]
